BIM

With today’s dynamic built environment, the development of buildings has become an increasingly complex activity. As a result, it is imperative that accurate information affecting the design and construction process be effectively managed and shared.

Building information Modelling (BIM) is the process by which digital representations of physical and functional characteristics of a building are generated and managed. It creates a shared knowledge resource, enabling information to be kept up-to-date and accessible in an integrated digital environment. With BIM, users can have access to accurate information throughout the building lifecycle, leading to faster decision making, improved productivity, lowered costs, and the ability to accurately evaluate design alternatives and detect building conflicts. BIM also helps to preserve design and construction information for our clients.

Autodesk’s Revit software supports BIM, and enables users to design with both 3D modelling and 2D drafting elements. Revit allows for buildings to be designed and constructed in a holistic manner, and its parametric change technology coordinates updates throughout project views and construction drawings, allowing information to stay accurate, consistent, and up-to-date.
