Henry Leung, Senior Project Manager in MMM’s Vancouver Bridges Group, will present at the Western Bridge Engineers’ Seminar, taking place September 3-6 in Bellevue, Washington.
Hosted by the Washington State Department of Transportation, the event is themed Advances in Design, Construction, Inspection, & Preservation of Bridges.
Henry will present a poster session on MMM’s role in the Highway 99, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Overhead Bridge Widening and Seismic Retrofit project in Surrey, BC. MMM provided preliminary and detailed design, tender document preparation, cost estimating, and construction phase engineering services for the project, which was awarded the 2011 BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure’s Deputy Minister’s Award of Merit.
The Western Bridge Engineers’ Seminar is a biennial cooperative effort by the United States Federal Highway Administration and the transportation departments of Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. Its purpose is the exchange of information between government agencies, consultants, contractors, educators, and suppliers on current subjects important to the design, construction, and maintenance of bridges.
