The annual PUG Awards recognize the most popular new buildings in Toronto, as determined by a public online vote. This year, several MMM Group projects were recognized:
- River City Phase 1, Best Residential Building of 2014
- 500 Wellington, Best Residential Building of the Past Ten Years
MMM provided sustainable buildings services on the two projects. The sustainability of the two-building River City Project was specifically recognized in the award description:
LEED Gold and carbon neutral, River City Phase 1 pushes the envelope in terms of environmental sustainability as well as architectural design. Among other things, the Phase 1 buildings are highly energy efficient, and include green roofs and car share spaces.
The Pug Awards, now in their 10th year, celebrate the best in Toronto architecture and planning. The goal is to encourage design excellence through public engagement.
