Anthony Henday Drive SE Leg Ring Road

The project improves Alberta's highway network and serves as an excellent example of partnership between the public and private sector

MMM was the Design Team Lead for the $493-million Anthony Henday Drive Southeast Leg Ring Road, Alberta’s first P3 highway project. MMM provided project management, transportation engineering, bridge engineering, drainage design, surveying, construction quality assurance, and detailed design of illumination for 5.5 km of highway, the corresponding interchanges and flyovers, and bridge and underpass structures.

  • Project included 11 km of highway, 20 separate bridge structures, three service interchanges, two system interchanges, three flyovers, and two rail grade separations
  • Implementation of an incremental delivery process enabled the team to meet the compressed design and construction schedule, accelerating the design work and enabling the project to be delivered ahead of schedule and on-budget
  • Collaborated with the design-build contractor to integrate efforts and provide solutions that controlled costs and kept the project on schedule
  • Project significantly reduced traffic congestion in south Edmonton
