City of Ottawa Bank Street Community Design Plan

Will ultimately shape all new physical changes of both private and public lands, ensuring a desirable urban fabric that represents the community's vision for the area

  • Between 2010 and 2012, MMM Group led the development of the Bank Street Community Design Plan (CDP), which is the first of its kind to comprehensively look at transportation options, mixed-uses, and public spaces for an arterial mainstreet in the City of Ottawa.
  • The Plan provides guidance for future development activity and infrastructure investments which will transform this 3.25-km corridor over the next 20 years, and encourages residential development, employment centres, and shops and services, while creating an improved streetscape with landscaping, safety improvements, and enhanced connections to greenspace and natural settings.
  • Technical documentation complementing the CDP includes zoning amendment provisions, traffic management analysis, a secondary plan, and a phasing and implementation strategy.
