Fully integrated networked lighting control system

MMM was responsible for the design of the electrical, communications, lighting, and security systems for the redevelopment of Surrey Place Mall, comprised of new retail space, parking, and offices for the Technical University of B.C., as well as a call centre for the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia.

  • Project scope included approximately 1 million ft2 of new building space, office tower, a 950-car above-ground parkade, a 250,000 ft2 galleria and atrium, a 750,000 ft2 podium and tower, renovation to the existing mall to permit construction of the galleria above, and the relocation of 102nd Avenue to accommodate the expanded site
  • Lighting design was integrated within the architecture of the building to compliment the modern and minimalist building appearance
  • Networked lighting control system was fully integrated with the building management system, complete with occupancy controls and daylight sensor controls
  • Energy-efficient design complies with the Commercial Building Incentive Program
