Natural channel design techniques were used to realign the creek
- As part of the development of a commercial property in Southeast Oakville, Clearview creek needed to be realigned along the perimeter of the property.
- MMM’s landscape architecture team collaborated with the fluvial geomorphologist for the detailed design of the creek, including erosion control and pool and riffle design.
- Planting design included the use of salvaged root wads from the existing creek, grass plugs, live stakes, aquatic plugs, deciduous whips, and a diverse selection of native trees and shrubs.
- Planting was designed to increase aquatic habitat, attract native birds, and provide instant erosion control for the new corridor.
