Forbes Creek Restoration

  • The rehabilitation of Forbes Creek, a heavily modified watercourse within the Grand River watershed, included complete reassignment of the creek and removal of several drop structures to improve fish passage
  • Designed a natural channel and several habitat features, such as vernal pools and meadow marsh complexes, to restore a valley altered through extensive grading
  • Extensive plantings of woody and herbaceous material used to naturalize the valley, provide shelter, habitat, and food sources for local wildlife populations, and screen from encroaching urbanization
