Golden Ears Bridge

Construction of the new bridge and road network created over $1 billion in economic activity in Metro Vancouver

The award-winning bridge and associated road network resulted in improved north-south access to regional centres and major trade routes, crucial to the continued growth of the region and province.

The first electronic toll bridge in western Canada, and the longest multi-span, cable-stayed bridge in North America, it provides a direct route between the communities of Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge to Langley and Surrey. The one km long toll bridge and 14 km road network provides a quick and convenient link for families, friends, commuters, and business.

  • Provided independent certification for this $800 million project. An integrated, multidisciplinary team delivered ongoing independent review of project progress, involving a 968-m cable-stayed, six-lane bridge spanning the Fraser River
