Peterborough Airport

  • Prepared 2009 Master Plan
  • Design‑build contract, funded from the Canada-Ontario Infrastructure Stimulus Fund, for a 2,000-ft proposed runway extension and airside upgrading, with capital cost of $17 million
  • Designed an eight-stage construction program that required temporary closure of taxiways and multiple runway threshold displacements, in order to minimize impacts to airport operations
  • Staging was detailed in the contract drawings and incorporated into the Plan of Construction Operations, which detailed airport operation and restrictions as well as contractor and airport responsibilities
  • In 2013, MMM provided similar services for a new, 2,000-ft cross-wind runway, associated taxiways, and apron in support of the relocation of Seneca College’s aviation program to the airport.
