Prince Rupert Airport

  • Provides an important access to British Columbia’s north coast area; situated on Digby Island, 800 km north of Vancouver
  • Responsible for the design and construction administration of the airfield pavement rehabilitation
  • Includes Runway 13-31 which measures 6,000 ft by 200 ft, Taxiway Alpha and Bravo, and a terminal apron
  • Project challenges include the multiple construction stages (required in order to maintain airport operation at all times) and ferry-only access to the airport
  • Prepared and submitted an Airport Capital Assistance Program application (with supporting preliminary design) to Transport Canada, for funding to help finance the rehabilitation work
