Southern Alberta Transmission Reinforcement

A transmission line survey, custom LiDAR, and mapping for 230 km of a 240 kV double-circuit transmission line were completed to alleviate existing system constraints and to integrate wind developments throughout southeastern Alberta

  • MMM completed field and aerial surveys along the entire project length, which involved legal surveys and establishing a control network of GPS base station locations
  • The established control network enabled the combination of all LiDAR DTM points, as well as actual topographic and legal survey information into a single homogenous data network

Roles:

  • project management
  • project control network
  • individual ownership plans
  • key access maps
  • LiDAR survey
  • borehole and structure staking
  • substation topographic surveys
