Saqib Khan, Senior Project Engineer in Vancouver, has been selected to be a sitting member on the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (S6) Subcommittee for Seismic Design.
In this new role Saqib will be participating in meetings and providing suggestions, feedback, and opinions for the next code, expected in 2019. Joining a group of respected engineers, Saqib’s passion and articulateness will be well received in technical discussions and debate over seismic design principles.
The Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code is the primary technical standard used in all major jurisdictions for the evaluation and design of new and rehabilitated bridges. Those invited to sit on the subcommittee are recognized as expert and industry leaders in their field. Through discussions and votes, members have a major influence on the design methods and practices used by bridge engineers across Canada.
