Nicole Lobb, Manager, Seawood FM, recently participated in a presentation, entitled You Can’t Manage What You Can’t See, at the 33rd Annual Conference of the Canadian Healthcare Engineering Society (CHES), which was held at the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
CHES is a national professional association representing approximately 1000 healthcare engineers and associates across Canada.
Nicole was joined by MMM’s Seawood FM client Roger Holliss, Director of Engineering & Bio-Medical Services at St. Mary’s General Hospital in Kitchener, to discuss the hospital’s approach to coping with issues surrounding increasingly complex aging buildings, redevelopment projects, and knowledge management.
With the assistance of MMM’s SeawoodFM software and solutions, St. Mary’s Hospital has developed a unique approach that collates and links virtually all of its information into one organized system for those in charge of its management and operations. This leading-edge approach creates an efficient knowledge centre for its users that allows St. Mary’s to create partnerships with external stakeholders like vendors, contractors, and consultants, while maintaining control of the process, the quality of information, and information ownership.
Nicole manages the MMM team that combines the power of the SeawoodFM software with a detailed understanding of the challenges faced by facility managers across Ontario, primarily in the healthcare industry. The solutions they develop help clients to effectively manage their facilities by providing reliable, comprehensive and timely information. Using a variety of methods such as documentation, analysis, and investigation, the end result is delivered to clients through SeawoodFM’s web-based visualization tool.
