Uthayan Thurairajah, Senior Project Engineer – Electrical Systems, recently delivered two presentations at the International Commission on Illumination technical conference in Toronto.
In his first session, Uthayan described how a holistic roadway lighting design approach makes a vital contribution to the visibility, operational efficiency, and health and safety of motorists and pedestrians.
His second presentation examined artificial light and health, as he discussed a human-centered approach to indoor and outdoor lighting design to synchronize with circadian rhythms using LED technology.
Uthayan has more than 18 years of experience in electrical engineering and lighting with extensive expertise in the design of roadway illumination projects and the integration of science and health into lighting design.
The International Commission on Illumination is devoted to worldwide cooperation and the exchange of information on all matters relating to the science and art of light and lighting, colour and vision, photobiology, and image technology.
